Submission Information
The Institute for Advanced Computing Applications and Technologies will be organized around a carefully selected set of research themes and theme development activities. Pre-proposals for these themes and activities are now being accepted.

Key theme and development activity guidelines:
- Prospective themes should include six or more individuals drawn from university faculty and from NCSA. Proposals that include research from multiple departments are encouraged.
- Pre-proposals for development activities should include an outline of a budget not to exceed $70,000 in one year or $100,000 total for two years. Pre-proposals for research themes should include an outline of a three-year budget not to exceed $200,000 in one year or $500,000 total for the three years.
- Pre-proposals may request assignment of NCSA professional staff, space in the NCSA Building, seed funds for faculty, staff, and student support, workshops and community-building activities, and other resources. Pre-proposals for research themes may outline plans for faculty hiring within the institute's research themes.
- Themes and development activities should position researchers for emerging funding opportunities. Themes and most development activities should be capable of attracting external support within three years.
